6th September 2006:  This Black-headed Gull touched down briefly at the Fish Quay in Sligo Harbour before disappearing, and this has proven to be the only sighting of this bird which was ringed as a nestling on Gull island in Lough Mask Co. mayo in June.  Relatively few of the 270+ Black-headed gulls ringed on that island have been re-sighted since.  Any sightings of gulls with coloured/ numbered rings should be reported to the project co-ordinator, Eoin McGreal.
