Garden Warbler

Ringing in Sligo and Galway in October turned up two species that are quite scarce in the west of Ireland.  The Garden Warbler in the upper photo was trapped and ringed in a bog near Tuam, while the male (right) and female (left) Bramblings in the lower photos were ringed near Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo

An adult winter Mediterranean Gull was seen feeding with Blackheaded Gulls at the Cartron sewage outflows. This represents  the third "Med" Gull this year and the second this month.
