Recent sightings include a first winter Iceland Gull in Cartron Inner Bay, a Sparrowhawk at IT Sligo, as well as a record count of Barnacle Geese at Lissadell/Ballyconnell. Over 3,000 individuals of the latter were counted, accounting for possibly a third of Irelands total wintering population.
