| The Ring-billed Gull on the right was in Sligo Harbour on the 18th of August and the Ruff on the left was on the mudflats of Ballisodare Estuary on the 23rd. | ||

These are first records for County Sligo in over 100 years. Amazingly, they were observed for several minutes plunge diving for food.

August 2004: This Sandwich tern was one of three that roosted on
Cummeen Strand at low tide. This bird is ringed but unfortunately
it was not possible to read the ringing details. |
