A male Gadwall (top) has apparently paired off with a female mallard (lower image) in the Garravogue River in the middle of Sligo town.

Dipper in flight over the Garravogue River in Sligo town centre, and (upper) image, living up to it's name - by dipping (or diving) into the deepest part of the river which is in flood at the moment.  It is carrying food, indicating that it has a brood nearby
