The subspecies of the Rock Pipit has not been conclusively identified. The bird has a pronounced supercillium, as well as a dark grey back. These features are usually associated with Rock Pipits of Scandinavian origin.

| 22nd April 2005: The spring passage of the continental 'alba' race of the Pied Wagtail, commonly known as White Wagtails, is well under way. These birds are en route from their wintering grounds in southern Europe/Africa to Iceland. The more familiar darker race ('yarellii') is only found in the UK and Ireland. | ||
